Easy Blackened Salmon Sandwich Cajun made with bold Cajun-seasoned salmon, fresh crisp vegetables, and creamy dressing layered inside toasted buns. Ready in just 25 minutes for a quick, flavorful meal.
Ingredients
4 skinless salmon fillets (4–5 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon avocado oil
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2–1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 brioche or sourdough sandwich buns
1 cup mixed greens
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup creamy ranch or herb dressing
Instructions
1. Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
2. Pat salmon fillets dry and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
3. Coat each fillet evenly with the Cajun spice mixture.
4. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add avocado oil.
5. Cook salmon 3–4 minutes per side until a dark crust forms and salmon flakes easily.
6. Lightly toast sandwich buns until golden.
7. Spread dressing on the bottom bun, add mixed greens, place salmon on top, then layer cucumber and red onion.
8. Close with the top bun and serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust cayenne to control spice level.
Use Greek yogurt mixed with lemon juice and herbs for a lighter dressing.
Whole wheat buns can be used for extra fiber.
Store cooked salmon separately for best freshness.
