Soft and chewy Brown Butter Honey Pistachio Bars made with nutty brown butter, sweet honey, and crunchy pistachios for a rich, bakery-style dessert.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup honey
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups shelled pistachios, roughly chopped
Optional flaky sea salt
Instructions
1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Let cool slightly.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
4. In a large bowl, mix browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
5. Stir in honey, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
6. Add vanilla extract and combine.
7. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
8. Fold in chopped pistachios evenly.
9. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
10. Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are golden and center is set.
11. Cool completely before slicing into 24 bars.
Notes
Do not overbake to keep the bars soft and chewy.
Allow bars to cool completely for clean slices.
Lightly toast pistachios before adding for deeper flavor.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
