Rich chocolate brownies layered with gooey caramel and crunchy pecans inspired by classic turtle candy.
Ingredients
8 tablespoons unsalted butter
8 ounces semisweet chocolate
3 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup caramel sauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup chocolate chips
extra caramel sauce for drizzle
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×9 baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth.
3. Whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt into the chocolate mixture.
4. Stir in cocoa powder and flour until just combined.
5. Spread half the batter into the pan and bake 15 minutes.
6. Mix caramel sauce, chopped pecans, and mini chocolate chips.
7. Spread the caramel mixture over the partially baked brownie layer.
8. Top with remaining brownie batter.
9. Sprinkle pecan halves and chocolate chips on top.
10. Bake 25 minutes until edges are set.
11. Cool 1 hour then refrigerate 2 hours before slicing.
Notes
Toast pecans for stronger flavor.
Chill brownies before slicing for clean layers.
Use dark chocolate for deeper chocolate taste.
Store brownies in an airtight container up to 3 days.
