Description
This dumpling bake is a creamy oven casserole made with frozen dumplings, savory sauce, and melted cheese. It’s an easy comfort food dinner perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
1 bag (20–24 oz) frozen dumplings
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Arrange frozen dumplings in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Do not thaw.
4. Pour the sauce evenly over the dumplings, making sure they are lightly coated.
5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
6. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top, and bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until bubbly.
7. Switch to broil for 2 to 4 minutes to create a golden, slightly crispy top. Watch closely.
8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
9. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired and serve warm.
Notes
Do not thaw dumplings before baking.
Avoid adding too much liquid to keep the dumplings from becoming soggy.
Broil carefully to prevent burning.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
