Description

Galentine’s Strawberry Shortcake Trifle is a fresh and easy layered dessert made with tender cake cubes, juicy strawberries, and fluffy whipped cream. Perfect for parties and celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale

4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 ounces cream cheese, softened (optional)

1 pound cake or vanilla cake, cut into cubes


Instructions

1. Combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit 20–30 minutes.

2. Beat cream cheese until smooth if using.

3. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

4. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese if using.

5. Layer cake cubes in a trifle dish.

6. Add a layer of strawberries with juice.

7. Spread whipped cream mixture over strawberries.

8. Repeat layers until dish is full.

9. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Use pound cake for best structure.

Chill at least one hour for best flavor.

Do not freeze assembled trifle.
